Forgive Yourself

We all have those days when it is hard to look at ourselves in the mirror. For whatever reason, we judge the reflection looking back at us. We hate what we see and turn away. We find things to distract us from our own demeaning self-talk and tend to resist or suppress how we feel so we don't have to deal with it. We don't realize that the simple act of forgiving and accepting ourselves could spare us the pain caused by holding on to self-destructive emotions.

All judgments are a form of resistance. Resistance creates tension, friction, and blockages that lead to pain and suffering. Energy flows freely when there is nothing obstructing it. Judging ourselves is like building a dam that restricts the flow of well being within us. Health and vitality is our natural state if allow our bodies to heal by letting go of the resistance we carry.

Forgiving yourself is the first step to release this resistance. A simple way to do this is to close your eyes and place your hands on your chest over your heart. Allow yourself to take a deep breath and relax for a moment. Now speak to the critical and disapproving part of you that is holding on to your self-judgments and say gently: "I'm sorry. I forgive myself. And now I deeply and completely accept myself."

Forgiving and accepting yourself frees you to experience greater peace and ease. You'll feel yourself lighten up and let go of what you held onto so tightly. Doing so is effortless, and you'll discover that all the effort was in resisting it. Forgiving yourself is letting go and allowing the flow of well being to move through you unrestrained.

So remember the next time you are quick to judge yourself that you can simply let it go and forgive yourself. We all make mistakes. If we didn't, we would never learn and grow. See your challenges as blessings that give you the opportunity to make a new choice to be who you want to be now. We are all doing the best we can in the moment with what we have and know. With each mistake, we gain new knowledge and experience to make a wiser choice. Beating ourselves up about it only strains our progress. Forgiving ourselves frees us up to move ahead.

Most importantly, forgiving yourself is loving yourself. If you aren't loving and accepting yourself, you can't love anyone else in your life fully. You may also notice that in forgiving yourself, you'll find it easier to forgive others you may have held resentments and judgments about. (Hint: Your judgments were never about them anyway... The people in your life are really just reflections of yourself.)

Forgive, Accept, Let Go, Release, Bless, and Love... and you'll be so happy and peaceful. :)

What You Resist Persists

"What you resist persists"
- Carl Jung

Bob Doyle, one of the teachers in The Secret explains: "The reason that what you resist persists is because if you're resisting something, you're saying 'No, I don't want this thing because it makes me feel this way - the way I am feeling right now.' So you're putting out a really strong emotion of 'I really don't like this feeling', and then it comes racing toward you."

Rhonda Byrne writes in her book, "As you resist what has appeared, you are adding more energy and more power to those pictures you don't like, and you are bringing more of them at a furious rate."

What you focus on, you make bigger. The more energy you put into something, the more power you give it. Energy flows where attention goes, so resisting something just adds to it. It's in focusing on what you don't want that creates more of what you don't want.

Jack Canfield: "It's OK to notice what you don't want because it gives you contrast to say, 'This is what I do want'. But the fact is, the more you talk about what you don't want, or talk about how bad it is, read about that all the time, and then say how terrible it is - well, you're creating more of that."

Michael Bernard Beckwith: "Learn to become still and to take your attention away from what you don't want, and all the emotional charge around it, and place the attention on what you wish to experience."

Resistance creates blocks, tension, stress, fighting, and war. Ultimately, it only causes pain and suffering within yourself and the world. To get what you want, you have to let go of resisting and focusing on what you don't want. Release your resistance and the flow of abundance, health, and love will flow easily into your life.

So can you let it go?

Will you let it go?

When?

Focus and Let Go

The key to harnessing the power of the Law of Attraction is focus. Whether you focus on what you want or what you don't want, the Law of Attraction brings to you what you focus on because like attracts like. If we keep thinking about what we don't want, we get more of what we don't want. In order for you to get what you want, it is crucial to focus on what you want.

If there are a lot more "don't wants" in your mind than "wants", start by looking at what the want is underneath the "not want". For example, if you don't want to keep going to a job that you hate, shift your focus to wanting a job you will love. If you don't want to be overweight, focus instead on the perfect weight that you want. If you don't want the credit card debt, focus on prosperity and noticing what is abundant in your life.

The more you focus on what you want, the more you will attract what you want to you. You will start doing things a little differently, ideas will come to you, and you will make choices that will be in alignment with what you want. The more you act on inspired thoughts, the faster you will attract what you want. Momentum will build if you consistently focus on your want and keep moving toward it. The stronger your belief and passion, the faster you will get what you want.

If you find it challenging to stay focused and doubts creep in, practice letting go of those thoughts. They are just resistance to the natural flow of abundance and well being that is your birthright. In fact, the only thing between you and all you desire is the resistance you hold on to. Let go and release that resistance, and all your wants will come to you like the floodgates have been opened.

So focus on what you want, and let go of any doubt or fear that comes up about having it. As explored in previous posts, I highly recommend the Sedona Method as a process for releasing resistance. It is super easy and very effective. You are meant to have and experience all you desire in your life. You just have to hone your focus and get out of the way of receiving it.

The Sedona Method

Today UPS delivered the Sedona Method to me. I ordered it last Tuesday as my interest peaked on the importance of letting go. This month I've realized more clearly how our own resistance blocks our experience of well-being and abundance, and I've made it a priority for myself to release whatever I'm holding onto so I can attract what I desire faster. I've been using the simple questions I found on the Sedona Method website (http://www.sedona.com/) with amazing results, so I am very excited about studying the full course I received today in depth.

I've already listened to the Introduction, which in and of itself is amazing because Hale Dwoskin (who was also in The Secret) basically gives away the meat and potatoes right from the start. (You can get this CD free from their website.) It's simplicity is baffling. Hale evens admits that most people reject it at first because of that. We've all been taught to complicate everything, but the great truths in life are usually in the simplest terms. Basically, if you can ask yourself three questions, you can let go of anything. Here they are again: "Could I let this go? (or can I?) Would I let it go? (or will I?)" And then ask yourself... "When?"

Can you let it go?

Will you let it go?

When?

The key is to keep asking yourself this a few times until you feel yourself relax and release whatever discomfort or tension you are feeling.

Can you?

Will you?

When?

It's so easy. Try it! I've used it to let go of irritation, worry, and even sugar cravings. Today I was in the grocery store and walked by the bakery. The cinnamon rolls and doughnuts seemed to be calling me over to them, but I stopped myself. I took a moment and noticed how I was feeling. Then I asked myself those questions...

Can I let it go?

Will I?

When?

After a couple rounds, the craving disappeared, and I continued on to the hot bar to get some real food. Anyone who knows me and my history with sugar knows that this is a miracle. (I used to put down a dozen doughnuts no problem AND chase it with two pints of ice cream!) The fact that I can avoid binging myself into a sugar-induced coma just from asking myself a few simple questions is absolutely incredible!

I am so excited about the potential of using the Sedona Method in my life. Not that I'm trying to sell you on it or anything. Trust me, I am in no way benefitting financially from promoting this. I just feel I've made one of the most amazing discoveries of my life and want to share it with anyone who will listen. So take it or leave it. If you take it, I think you're in for a real eye-opening experience!

I'll keep you posted on my progress... :)

7 Powerful Processes to Attract Anything Fast

Want to know how to attract what you desire fast? Use one of the following powerful processes to bring what you want into your life sooner than later. Use a combination of them to manifest it even faster. Use them all together and you may just see results today!

Powerful Process #1: Decision

All things begin with a thought. It is our choice what thoughts we focus on. We decide to pay attention to one thought or another, and the more focus and attention we put on a thought, the more attractive force we give it. It is through our decisive power that we select which thoughts we want to focus on. By choosing to focus more and more on a particular thought or idea, the bigger and clearer it becomes. One thing to be aware of: To not decide is to decide. People who appear to be indecisive are actually being decisive about being indecisive. Instead of using the powerful process of decision to focus on what they want, they use it to convince themselves that they don't know what they want. Either way, the Law of Attraction is at work and you get what you focus on.

Powerful Process #2: Intention

Once a decision is made to focus on a thought that has a desired outcome, setting an intention to attract that idea into your reality is very powerful. Intention is the mother of all creation. It is desire for a specific result and the determination to get it. Intention is moving forward with purpose and aspiring to achieve the results a mind is set on. Set an intention to be, do, or have something, and you powerfully summon the Universe to arrange itself to manifest your desires.

Powerful Process #3: Visualization

Taking the time to picture what you want in your mind and see yourself already having or experiencing it is extremely powerful. The key to effective visualization is feeling with all of your senses what it would be like if you have what you want now. This is much like playing "make believe", but here you are affirming to the Universe that what you want is already so. By doing this, you powerfully attract to you what you desire because it quite literally is already yours! What you see in your mind, you will hold in your hand. One tip when it comes to visualizing: the mind likes movement, so see yourself doing things, moving about, driving the car, walking through the house you want, etc.

Powerful Process #4: Gratitude

Everyone knows how great it feels to be appreciated. When someone thanks us, we want to do more for them. That's why being grateful is so powerful. Appreciating something literally appreciates it (makes it increase). Expressing gratitude in advance of receiving what you desire draws it to you. The more appreciative you are, the stronger your attractive force. Best of all, gratitude feels wonderful, and it too affirms to the Universe that you already have what you desire. And the Universe always responds to our thoughts with "Your wish is my command!"

Powerful Process #5: Releasing

The biggest obstacle to attracting our desires is our attachment to old ways of thinking. Even if we are experiencing something undesirable, on some level it is more comfortable than change. Resistance to change and new experiences stops the manifesting of our desires cold in their tracks. Though most of us won't admit that we are sabotaging our own success, deeper beliefs (old patterns of thought) prevent us from moving quickly into what we want. Releasing that resistance is probably the most important of all the processes. All it takes is the practice of letting go. There are many methods to accomplish this, meditation being a highly effective one, but it really all just comes down to relaxing our hold on certain thoughts. A quick way to do this comes from the Sedona Method: Ask yourself, "Could you let this go? Will you let this go? When?" And repeat that to yourself until you feel you've released it. Once you have, the natural flow of universal energy will be drawn to the attractive force of your desires.

Powerful Process #6: Action

This is a crucial part of the creation equation. The Universe moves to bring to you what you desire, but it also takes you moving to align yourself with it. If you pay attention to your intuition, you will be inspired to take action that brings you closer to your intention. Like pieces of a puzzle, the Universe is organizing things to complete the picture you hold in your mind, but you are the one who puts it together. The Universe is like someone looking over your shoulder and saying "That one goes there." It is then up to you to perform the action that brings you closer to the desired outcome. There is a quote that I have on my desk: "Pray as if everything depended on God, and then work as if everything depended on you."

Powerful Process #7: Allowing

Allowing is simply letting things be what they are. It is being detached from the outcome and unconcerned with what others are doing around you. That doesn't mean that you stop caring. It just means that you stop letting yourself waste energy on trying to control how things happen. Figuring out how your desires are going to manifest is not your job. That's what the Universe does for you infinitely better than you ever could. Not to say you aren't a great organizer, but there are things transpiring you aren't even aware of that are ultimately going to benefit you and bring to you what you want. Allow the Universe to sort out the details. Your role is to keep declaring what you want. It's like you are the CEO of your life and the Universe is your Manager that takes care of all the mundane shuffling of people and events so you enjoy the fruits of their labor.

So there you have it. 7 powerful processes to attract anything fast. Use them often, but most importantly, have fun with it. Feeling good about yourself, your life, and enjoying the process is ultimately what matters... (and literally causes things to materialize.)

Releasing Resistance

The only thing between you and what you want is your resistance to receiving it. Releasing that resistance is key if you truly want to attract all that you desire.

We live in an abundant Universe of infinite potential and possibility. Perfection is all around us. Well-being flows effortlessly through everything taking the path of least resistance. Grass doesn't strain to grow. Mountains don't struggle to become majestic peaks. The Universe does everything with zero effort.

Our most natural state is one of perfect health, unlimited abundance, absolute joy, total freedom, and unconditional love. Anything that is preventing or blocking us from experiencing this is caused by resistance.

That resistance is in the form of negative thoughts, repressed emotions, tightly held beliefs, false ideas, and illusions we accept as fact. The truth is that we have always had the choice to let all that go and allow the flow of abundance to heal our lives.

Everything is energy. Therefore releasing emotional blocks and resistance is just a matter of getting the energy to move and flow inside us. Letting go and releasing resistance inside you is the shortcut to having all you desire in any area of your life.

I have learned of three methods for doing this kind of releasing energy work through a few of the teachers of The Secret:

Bob Doyle promotes a process called EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. Click this link to watch a video about it: http://www.emofree.com/splash/video_popup.asp
I'm currently reading a book by Carol Look called "Attracting Abundance with EFT", which is highly recommended by Bob Doyle as well.

Hale Dwoskin promotes a process called The Sedona Method. Click this link for more info about it and a sample of how it works: http://www.sedona.com/html/Sample-Of-Process.aspx

Joe Vitale promotes a process called Ho’oponopono in his new book "Zero Limits", which is an ancient Hawaiian art to neutralize and purify ourselves. Click this link to learn more: http://www.hooponopono.org/

At the core of every one of these processes is letting go. Forgiving ourselves and those we have blamed is also an important part of releasing our resistance. Finally, loving ourselves, being grateful, and blessing it all opens us to profound healing.

So as Hale Dwoskin would say as part of The Sedona Method:

Can you let it go?

Will you let it go?

When?
